Triceratops
At the exhibition Triceratops: Fate if the Dinosaurs, I worked on 2 applications: Triceratour and Our Triceratops.
Triceratour
Wall projection that allowed users to interact with a Triceratops animation using seven different rotary encoders. Each rotary encoder was dedicated to controlling a specific animation, which was synchronized to the speed at which the user turned the encoder forwards and backwards. If the application was idle for more than two minutes, it would automatically switch back to the resting animation, which displayed the entire Triceratops on the screen. The result was an engaging and immersive experience that allowed users to control the movement and behavior of the Triceratops in a fun and intuitive way.
Key technical specifications:
- 3x 1920x1200 projectos arranged horizontally to provide a panoramic and immersive view of the Triceratops 3D animation
- 3D animation was converted into images to be able to sync with the rotary encoder turns
- 7x rotary encoders
Our Triceratops
Experience a journey through time with our interactive 3D application where you can explore the seven stages that allowed the Triceratops fossil to be perfectly preserved for millions of years underground. Discover the fascinating science behind the preservation process as you interact with the various stages of the Triceratops' journey. With stunning visuals and engaging interactions, this experience shows how rare and precious the Triceratops fossil is.
